The Dundee Raincoat Part 3 - In the making

I design and individually hand craft all of my coats so my approach to this collaboration between the V&A Dundee, Halley Stevensons and KerrieALDO was no different.

With this said there were a few different aspects to the design process this time with an outline and goal for the project as well as several meetings to discuss various stages of the project!

Before a design comes together there is a lot of other behind the scenes work that has taken place, this includes things like writing down ideas, sketching, testing fabrics, colours, trims, designing a paper pattern to cut from, making a mock-up, thinking about the finishing and placement of the key design features and the list goes on.

As a dedicated slow fashion brand creating durable, high-quality, handcrafted outerwear with a contemporary twist, I think it is important to highlight the making process and work that goes into each piece.
