Celebrating the Pinafore Dress - Q&A

I cannot get enough of the pinafore dress. My first pinafore dress design was released over 5 years ago!

Since then I have recreated the style in many different ways with new details, fabrics and finishing but retaining that classic and oh so flattering a-line fit.

One of my customers, Grace, kindly agreed to answer some questions about her budding collection and here’s what she had to say…

You’ve built a collection of KerrieALDO pieces now, which was the first KerrieALDO design you bought?   And how did you know about it?

The first piece I bought was the raspberry pinafore. I had seen your Facebook page and loved it as soon as I saw it.

What is your favourite piece?

My favourite piece is definitely my paisley pinafore. I try and find reasons to wear it.

What do you like about the style and fit of the dresses?

I love the pinafores because they’re made incredibly well and the material is fabulous. The design and fit seem to flatter my figure as I have a large bust yet the pinafores do not look overly baggy on me. So many people have complimented me on the items and I can wear them in soo many ways, during the day and again stylish enough for the evening too! I wore one of your pinafores the day I picked my wedding dress and the bridal boutique loved it!

As a predominately online shop is this something you’ve found to be a problem when buying some of your collection?

Never had an issue ordering online as you have always been so approachable and helpful when I’ve mailed asking about sizes etc. Postage is always quick and the items are always perfect when they arrive.

What value did you find in coming along to one of my pop-up shops?  Did it make it easier for you when you could try something on and see the fabrics in the flesh?

I’ve been to one pop up of yours, the Xmas before last I believe it was, you held it in the vintage shop in exchange street! I bought a T-shirt for my husband, a makeup bag for myself and a pinafore! It was lovely to see all the items I had lusted after on the website! Hopefully, you have more soon!!

Is it important to you that you know where your clothes have been made and that you are buying something you intend to treasure for a long time!?

I love telling anyone who compliments me on your designs exactly where they come from. I love that personal touch and connection. I know the care and time taken in making each item and I value that over a high street chain any day.  My next purchases will be more pinafores and hopefully a custom coat!

Here are some of the pieces from Grace’s collection. The ‘crazy tapestry’ pinafore, raspberry v-neck and paisley denim.

You can see the current dress styles here.

These dresses are never mass-produced and there are limited numbers in the current designs. If you need any help with sizing, please do let me know at info@kerriealdo.com.
