Sizing up - Choosing the right size for kids coat
Getting the right size for your KerrieALDOmini is important to you, and to us, so here's a quick and easy guide of how to measure up to make sure you're making the right choice when ordering.
While our KerrieALDOmini sizes are based on age, we understand that some children are tall for their age or maybe petite. That's when you might need a little extra help to double check on our sizing.
When following our measuring instructions, we recommend that you use the size chart below and compare it to an existing garment that you know fits to find the best match for you. Altough all KerrieALDO kids coats are exchangeable (excluding custom) Getting the right size first time means you don't have to wait any longer than necessary to get the wear out of the new coat!
So here goes...
The first measurement you need to take is your back length, to make sure the jacket will be long enough for your child. To do this, you need to measure straight down the
back
of the jacket. Start at the seam where the hood joins the back, and measure all the way down to the hem.
Next, you need to measure the sleeve length. Please remember that when measuring the sleeve length, we measure with the cuffs turned up (also note than on jackets with this feature the cuffs can also be worn down when your kid grows a bit)
. Start at the side neck seam, measure down the top of the shoulder seam and down to the finished length of the sleeve.
Finally, you need to measure the side seam to side seam width
. To do this, lay the jacket
flat
on a table, and measure from one side seam to the other. All our KerrieALDOmini designs have straight
sides
so this length will be the same at any point down the sides of the jacket.
